BUSINESS OBJECTIVE
SOAP based web service client in Android mobile device
ICDMS is a patient-centric tool to ensure the right patient tracks the right metrics, gets the right education and therapies anytime and anywhere.
Patients, doctors and healthcare providers securely record, share and manage heart data to stay healthy. Users can manage diet and medication compliance by configuring alerts and reminders based on thresholds, goals and clinical requirements.

    The following were the high-level objectives for application enhancement:-
  • The main idea is to implement an Android Mobile Device Application to provision the patients to send their daily scheduled health readings i.e. Weight, Blood Pressure Standing, Blood Pressure Resting, Heart Beat, Blood Glucose, Exercise and Diet, Medication, Symptoms, and Water Intake etc. to ICDMS system. A Doctor monitors the readings and provides the health instructions to the patient based on his health readings.
  • Understand the Integrated Chronic Disease Management System for at risk congestive heart failure patients to monitor and track the vitals and daily readings.
  • Implement patient user interfaces in Android mobile device to enter and send the daily scheduled readings.
  • Implement SOAP based web service client in Android mobile device to send the patient readings to ICDMS java web service.

SOLUTIONS
Application using Android SDK
VIT understood the whole Integrated Chronic Disease Management System and the interactions between the mobile application and services. VIT designed and developed an Android mobile application using Android SDK with a user interface that has high usability features to allow even senior citizens to enter their daily health readings. The application also had an inbuilt alert system for reminding the patients to measure and report their health readings and notify any alerts from the doctor to the patient.
